I am a rule follower. Yes, I have a gypsy spirit but basically, I vibe to order and routine. It has been tough going these past couple of weeks, the Professor’s workload seemingly has prevented any extracurricular or fun activities!
Pearl Bailey and Ella have been elated with my new stay-home routine. In their opinion, having me home is a major improvement. I have been counseling with Pearl Bailey in an effort to get her to keep herself as clean as possible. Look, I mean, with these extended work hours I have a lot more on my plate than usual, do I really need to deal with a dirty dog, too?
Today, she began to grow bored. As most of the rain had dried up from the sunshine this morning, I thought she deserved some frolic time out in her Shangri-la. As I opened the door, I bent down and kissed her nose and said, “Don’t get dirty, missy.”
As cultured and pedigreed as Miss Bailey is, she really is dumb when it comes to listening, or is she? When I called for her to come in an hour later, I couldn’t really believe what I was seeing! Just look at the disguise she is wearing. Does she think she is auditioning for the Phantom of the Opera or donning her best Darth Vader imitation? Or did she, ignoring my plea, hold a clandestine meeting in a gutter? Either way, she broke the rules!
As she was coming up the steps, I heard her attitude loud and clear… “RULES WERE MADE TO BE BROKEN”
