To those of you who follow along, I am sending you this most heartfelt post. I have been radio-silent for more than two weeks but with good reason. I took a nasty fall in the early morning hours of September 6th which resulted in breaking my left hip! There was much fanfare that surrounded the event – a ride in a big red bus with two lovely and compassionate EMTS, James & Jack, as my wardens. This excitement was amplified by the wide-opened mouths of all my neighbors who were waking up to the scene. Next, I was admitted to Doctors Hospital (and for those who believe) was immediately surrounded by the angels who love and protect me; the evidence of that occurrence kept popping up all around me and had nothing to do with the morphine I was being administered.
In the early morning hours of the following day, I was whisked to surgery and was put back together with a plate and two screws. Home on Sunday tucked back in my own bed just in time for the kickoff of the Professor’s 4 pm scheduled football game. Listen folks, there are just some things a person must make happen when they are married to a rapid sports fan like the Professor!
All in all, I am healing by inches every day. I have just begun PT and look forward to my follow-up appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. Meanwhile, I have to send out one huge heartfelt thanks to my comrade, Lynn McGinnis, who kept the D.J. Posner platform kicking, and kept me uplifted with her own brand of encouragement. Without a team behind your brand, it’s easy to get lost in this ever-changing world!
To the folks closest to me who were my reassuring cheering section – the flowers, the gifts, the messages, the daily calls and the uplifting words you administered when I was sinking will never be forgotten. It’s hard to keep a good girl down when she has the strength of Atlas lifting her every step of the way.
Finally, as many of you know, I was in the final stages of my new book, Goings-On on Gardenia Lane, when this mishap occurred thwarting my project to a stand-still. Where I originally had a goal to move this project to post-production by October 15th, that goal will need to be extended by a few weeks at least. Please keep your anticipation fresh, it is a waggishly amusing story with zany characters, and sure to end up being a fun read for all ages.
Thank you all for your loyalty in following along. I promise fresh new content will be coming your way. It is lovely to be loved by all of you, I count it as one of my greatest blessings.
