DAUGHTERS THAT TURN INTO MOTHERS

I was gifted two beautiful daughters.  One, a gift from the Professor when I became his bride.  The other, a gift from our son, my incredible daughter-in-law.  These two women, who brought grace into my life from the first day they were presented to me, have grown into two of the most remarkable women.

I have watched these two gals mature from blushing brides to dedicated wives.  I have watched them both conquer and break the glass ceilings of the business world, all the while managing demanding careers that brought home the ‘bacon’, and finding the time and balance required to also give birth. How fortunate that through their efforts my life’s gifts doubled when they both presented me with a granddaughter.

I love the synergy of these life events.  The manner in which Love flows from one relationship to another.  Through the love that each girl has shown me, I became a ‘mother’; a relationship I had not known before their presence in my self-centered life.  Watching these two daughters grow and blossom into loving and devoted women, and then become mothers to their own daughters – well, you can understand why I am so attached to the concept.

Celebrating motherhood is something I champion.  I do love getting pampered on Mother’s Day and in turn lavishing the same on my girls.  I love hearing from them that they are being indulged and waited-on, too.  I, for one, believe that every day should be Mother’s Day and every day we should celebrate the miracle of birth that God has granted us.   Without it, none of us would be here!
