LOVE’S LANGUAGE

On a recent walk along New York City’s famed linear pedestrian park “The High Line”, I came across some stirring art.  It was an image of the word LOVE spelled in English in large stack letters. Of course, I truly embraced the message this piece of art evoked for, I believe, Love is the greatest gift we can give or receive in life. Now that being said, directly behind the message in English, LOVE is also written, but this time in Hebrew. I was very moved by this display as I think it speaks volumes about the unity sorely needed in our war-torn world.  Additionally, not seen in the photo yet still apart of the same scene and just as worthy to mention, was the same message, LOVE, this time spelled out in Spanish. This, too, spoke to me as we grapple with the mess at our southern border and with our Spanish speaking neighbors.  No matter the language – the profound message is the same.  We need more ‘Love’ in this world.

As I took this walk it felt like it was a blessing to have witnessed this beautiful art display and be able to ponder on its message for a bit.  I wish to thank these wonderful artists for conveying it to me and all those who take this walk.
