Every morning as the sun comes up, I sit with a warm beverage and listen to the world awake. Once the organic sounds have wiped the cobwebs from my slumbered mind, I switch on the morning news. Lately, it seems, the accounts of violence are becoming more and more frequent. This new reality has made me more contemplative. The world at large has become the kind of place that is rifled with terror and fearful souls. I find the masses have capitulated, and as an aftereffect, less compassionate in their thinking.
Where I understand the strife and torn rages with strong demands going on across the globe propel many a soul, I see that a domestic change is needed in our individual thinking and is one that is long overdue. I believe that, in general, we need to get back to a gentler and more altruistic mindset.
I have long thought that when one expands their contemplation of a situation what results is a plethora of enriched thoughts and the opportunity to display more largesse. All in all, I think our world in crisis has given us the chance to adopt a change for the better.
All of these thoughts and contemplations have been a balm for my soul this morning. I was always meant to live a spiritual life, and my adaptation to this new reality still leads me to a place of hope. We are all in this world together, and together the small changes we make within ourselves will help bring about a better world.
