We are in a new world now, and we are all in it together as we try to navigate through this new mixed-up society that reaches all four corners of the earth.
As we brave this new world, we begin to recognize we are all the same — every man, woman, child. And we are conjoined in the world that now marches to a new cadence. Our alikeness serves us up an opportunity, it gives us a chance to unite.
This is true not only with the ones you love, but also with the ones you like less. I say…take the time to lay down any raised swords, or bring a halt to any precipitated silence between any one of you. Instead, recognize that the time is here to extend acceptance to the family and friends we love, AND to the ones we haven’t loved as much as we could. (By the way, I did not say ‘should’ I said ‘could’ because ‘should’ is a dangerous word.)
If you or any one you know is in a dispute or struggling over anything — whether it big or small — now is the time. Let it go, and encourage others to do the same. Let this new uncertain path that we are all on be graced with love instead of discord.
Here’s to filling yourselves with a heart and mind full of grace. And once you do, the world will truly be a better place just because you were brave enough to choose healing words over raised swords.
I wish you all peace.
